I was always fascinated by the idea of alchemy, that magic protoscience with few rules, unpredictable results and lots of experimentation. Therefore, after reading all over the web about this ecofriendly, DIY method of developing film with coffee, I decided my next B&W roll is the perfect candidate for my Magnum Opus. So, I grabbed my family, well at list part of it… rushed to the seaside and started to experiment. And, I must say, I was not disappointed by the result, although when the faintly developed film came out of the reel, I was quite nervous. However, thanks to our good old friend the computer, scans and prints turned out magnificent. I love the low contrast warm grays, occasional haze and overall vintage feel!
